“I wouldn’t have considered myself a
cyclist or a traveller as such but this has really opened my eyes,
an experience of a lifetime” Celine
O’Neill , Thailand 2002 Participant
In the year 2000, Beaumont Hospital Foundation organised the
Dublin Bay 40K Funcycle, which raised over £100,000 for the Trauma
Unit and Diabetes Research.
Due to the success of this we followed this with the Caribbean
Challenge - Cycle Cuba in 2001, which raised over £60,000 for
various medical research programmes, including cancer research,
renal disease research and Head Injury Research.
In 2002 we took a team of supporters on a 14 day Thailand cycle
challenge which also proved a great success.
We're continuing our cycle tradition in 2003 when we head of
to Vietnam on our Cycle Challenge and it promises
to be equally as exciting as our previous events. Read
about our 2003 cycle challenge.
If you'd like to learn a little bit more about what to expect
from our cycle challenge please read stories written by previous
participants.
