Just after 3.30pm, the team boarded the Aer Lingus flight, bound for
Milan. Twenty people travelled from all over Ireland to walk on behalf of
BHF. A great mixture of new and previous participants gathered to
participate in the Lake Garda Walking challenge for Beaumont Foundation.

The group arrived that evening at the Hotel, it was September the 15th and the weather was expected to be good for the week. After checking-in the participants fell in to their beds after the long journey.

Saturday morning saw the group depart by coach to the Parona Bridge where they started the walk to Verona along the Adige River for the first walk of the week.

It was up early on Sunday for the start of the second walk - passing
several towns to San Vigilio. In the afternoon we had free time to soak-up the atmosphere of the area. The day trip to Venice was on Monday, for those who had not visited Venice before they were completely blown away with the sights of this unique city.

As Tuesday was a free day, some went shopping while others spent the time lapping up the sights and atmosphere of the beautiful island of Simonie. Wednesday saw the group walking to the historic village of Borgetto. After wine tasting at Bardolino it was off to the Hotel Speranza for dinner.

Thursday saw the group transfer by ferry to Maderno and on to Muslone to start the walk to the little town of Poivere. After which the second part
of the walk continued to Gargnano. Both Ben Malone our guide and Noreen were very pleased that the walking challenge had gone very well. Everyone was very pleased that they had all finished the challenge well and healthy.

Friday was time for the group to depart and head back to Dublin.
